05/07/1870 William Filer (on bail) was sentenced to one calendar month's imprisonment to hard labour for stealing timber at Paulton, the property of the Old Mills Coal Company there - George Gibbs, a carpenter and beer seller, on whose property the timber was found, was severely reprimanded.
