TEMPLE CLOUD

PETTY SESSIONS:- Before Major Mogg, W. B. Nais, Esq., and Major the Hon. E. J. Boyle, justices.

Joseph Vowles, of Chew Stoke, and James Vowles, of Compton Martin, were summoned for drunkenness. The parties are brothers, and were found by the police lying at the side of the road at Chew Stoke, covered with mud and blood, and were drunk. They appeared to have been fighting. They were convicted and fined 12s each.

Thomas Holvey, of Paulton, was summoned for being found in the beerhouse of James Speed, called "The Jug," at unlawful hours. The landlord having been convicted at the last Petty Sessions, he was fined 5s and 7s costs.
