LICENSEE'S WIFE BURIED AT PAULTON
The funeral took place at Paulton Cemetery, of Mrs Elizabeth Gillard (69), wife of the licensee of the Somerset Inn. She was very much respected during her 40 years' residence in the village. The service was in the parish church, the Rev. B. W. Screech (vicar of High Littleton) officiating in the absence of the Rev. J. A. Beazor (vicar of Paulton).
The family mourners included the husband, Mr and Mrs W. Gillard, Mr and Mrs Frank Gillard, Mr and Mrs Stanley Gillard (sons and daughters-in-law), Mrs and Mrs E Witch, Mr and Mrs S Emery, Mrs and Mrs R. Fry of Clevedon (daughters and sons-in-law), Mrs C. Gillard (daughter-in-law), Mrs Polly Green (sister-in-law). Many other relatives, neighbours and friends were present. The floral tributes included a marble pedestal from friends and neighbours.
