FORMER LICENSEE
Funeral of Mr. W. H. Lumber at Parish Church

In his earlier days he was in business for some years as a general haulier, and at periods was in other business at Batcombe and Wells. Later for a short time he held the license of the Victoria Inn, Newtown, and subsequently was the licensee for 21 years of the Winterfield Inn, up to about six years ago, when he retired.
The funeral took place on Friday, the first part of the service being held in the parish church and the interment in Paulton Cemetery, the Rev. J. A. Beazer (Vicar) officiating.

Perry (brother-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. A. Ford, Mrs. S. Goulding, Mr. H. Bird, Miss Olive Perry, Mr. and Mrs. H. Atkins, Mr. and Mrs. Cliff England, Mrs. W. Simmons (nephews and nieces).
Others present included Mr. Joseph Tucker, Mr. W. D. Butler, Mr. George Carter, and Mr. F. Burge.
The bearers were Messrs. J. Dando, W. Ford, C. Simmons and W. Collier.
Floral tributes were sent from his sorrowing wife; Miriam, Annie, Alice and family; Mary, Jonah, Raymond and Lily; Jennie, Tom and family; Bill and Olive; Bradford-on-Avon; Ada, Anthony and family; Crossways, Farmborough; Beat and Cliff; Ethel and Will, Cardiff; Harry, Eliza and Annie; and Herbert and Nellie, Stratton-the-Fosse.
