LOCAL LICENSEE BEREAVED

DEATH OF MR. ALBERT STRAWSON

Many friends in Paulton and neighbourhood learned with sincere regret of the death of Mr. Albert Strawson, husband of Mrs. Florence Strawson, licensee of the Rising Sun Inn, Newtown, Paulton.

Mr. Strawson, who was 77, passed away after a short illness at Keynsham Hospital on Wednesday last week. He was well know and respected locally and had resided in the village for the greater part of his life.

For over 40 years he was employed by the late Messrs. H. J. Emms and Sons, Saddlers, of High Street, Paulton. he was a keen follower of local football and the deepest sympathy has been extended his wife left to mourn his loss.

The remains were conveyed to the Paulton Parish Church on Friday when the Vespers of the Dead were said.

The funeral took place on Saturday, the Rev. W. Goddard officiating, and the internment followed in Paulton Cemetery.

The mourners were: Mr. J. Chappell, of Bridgwater, and Mr. G. Iles of Bristol (cousins); Mrs. H. J. Emm, Messrs. G. Emm, W Slade, G. W. Carter, J. Bailey, W. Carter, W. J. Rouse, H. Clements, G. Banfield, R. Turner, A. Carey, W. Burge, L. Seymour, C. Williams, D. Griffiths and J. Standen, together with other friends.

Mrs. F. Strawson desires to tender her sincere thanks to all kind friends and neighbours for messages of sympathy, and floral tributes sent in her recent sad bereavement: also to the family doctors and the matron and staff of Keynsham Hospital for the devoted attention during the deceased's illness.
