Football Club President's Mishap

Mr. W. J. Bryant, licensee of the Red Lion Hotel, Paulton, had occasion to go to the G. W. R. Station at Radstock on Saturday afternoon, in order to meet a football player who was to arrive from Bristol. The player in question was figuring in the Radstock Town and Paulton Rovers match, and Mr. Bryant had arrange to convey him in a Ford car to the ground. When starting up the car the engine back-fired, with the result that Mr. Bryant sustained a broken wrist. he was attended by Dr. J. E. Scales, of Radstock, and conveyed home. He is President of the Paulton Rovers' F. C., and very popular in the village.
