DARTS LEAGUE FORMED
Headquarters to Be at Lamb Hotel
In recent years very few pastimes have become so increasingly popular, in this district at least, as the game of darts, and with the object of forming a darts league for the Paulton area, a well-attended meeting was held in the Lamb Hotel, Paulton, when following discussion it was unanimously agreed to form a darts league for the district.
Clubs representative of the following licensed houses in Paulton signified their intention to become members of the competition: The Red Lion Hotel, Britannia Inn, Victoria Inn, Winterfield Inn, the New Inn, Bloomfield, and the Lamb Hotel, Paulton, which was chosen as the league's headquarters.
The hope was expressed that this number might be augmented in the near future by clubs representing other licensed houses in the village and neighbourhood.
Mr. Edward Wyatt, of the Lamb Hotel, was chosen chairman of the league, with Mr. Ernest Brent, of the Red Lion Hotel as vice-chairman, and Mr. Ben Bond was unanimously, elected hon. secretary and treasurer.
Mr. Jack Wyatt. of the Lamb Hotel, kindly promised to provide a cup for the league, and Mr. Joe Thatcher, of the New Inn, Bloomfield, Paulton, also intimated his willingness to provide a trophy in the event of the league running an individual knock-out competition. Both offers were accepted with thanks.
