FORMER LICENSEE OF RISING SUN

Death at Bridgwater of Mrs. F. E. Strawson

Many people in Paulton and the neighbourhood learned with sincere regret of the death, at Bridgwater, of Mrs. Florence Ellen Strawson, a native of Paulton. She passed away at the home of her nephew, at Coker Hurst Farm, on Jan. 21.

Mrs. Strawson, who was 71, was licensee of the Rising Sun at Paulton for about 18 years until August of last year. She then resided at Hope Place for a period before taking up residence at Bridgwater about three months ago.

For about 12 months, Mrs. Strawson had been in failing health, the latter three months being confined to her bed. Her husband pre-deceased her nearly three years ago.

The funeral service at Paulton Parish Church on Jan 24 was conducted by Rev. D. Gimblett (Vicar of Paulton) and the interment followed in the Paulton Cemetery.

The family mourners were: Mr. and Mrs. G. Iles; Mesdames Molly, Emmie and Bessie Jones (cousins); Mr. and Mrs. J. Chappell (nephew)

Among other mourners were: Mr. W. G. Carter, Mrs. W. Carter, Mrs. K. Simmons, Mrs. Vaughan Jones, Mrs. Greening, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Rouse, Mrs. P. Oram, Mrs. Rideout, Mrs. Mackalay, Mrs. F. Filer, Mrs. R. Turner, Mr. W. Brooks, Mrs. B. Bull and Mrs. W. Shearn.

The floral tributes were: From Auntie, Jack, Connie and family; Molly, Emmie, and Bessie; Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Rouse; Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Carter; Mrs. K. Simmons; Mr. and Mrs. R. Silcox; Mr. and Mrs. R. Turner; neighbours at Hope Place; Mrs. Rideout.

The relatives of the late Mrs. Strawson desire to thank all friends for sympathy shown and floral tributes sent in their recent bereavement.
