LICENSEE'S TRAGIC END.

Found Dead in his Garden.

The death Mr George H Pullin, licensee of the Lamb Inn, which came with tragic suddenness on Tuesday morning, created a painful impression throughout the village and neighbourhood, where the deceased was held in high esteem and respect. The late Mr. Pullin, who was about 66 years of age, was in occupation of a plot of garden land situated at Tennis Court, Paulton. He appeared in his normal health on Tuesday morning, when he had occasion to visit his garden around 10 o'clock. There was evidence that he had finished the task for which he went to the garden, and was evidently about to make a restart for home when he was seized with what proved to be a fatal illness. Apart from the companionship of his two dogs, there was no person present at the time of the tragic happening, but soon after 12 o'clock Mr. Joseph Bailey, who was returning to his home in close proximity to the scene, discovered the body, which was quite near the barrow which the deceased had been using. P. C. Gillard and Dr. Miall were sent for, but the poor fellow was already beyond human aid, and the body was later conveyed home. Much sympathy has been extended to the relatives in their sad and sudden bereavement. Death was evidently due to heart disease and an inquest will not be necessary. Deceased was a native of Gloucestershire, where the funeral will take place.
