26/08/1862	Annual Licensing Session for victuallers - no objections	Annual Licensing Session for victuallers - no objections "The Chairman hoped that as they were licensed merely to refresh travellers they would be careful not to allow parties to remain on their premises long enough to get drunk, as the Bench had the power to withhold the license from such persons as so committed themselves." Application for Spirit license for Mr Thomas Burge, Redan Inn, Downside - application was opposed on behalf of the Britannia Inn, Chilcompton - refused. Application for Spirit License for Edwin Baker of the White Post, Midsomer Norton - opposed on behalf of T Burge. Adjourned to next petty session.
