Samuel Workman, licensee of the Rose and Crown Inn, Withy Mills, Paulton, was summoned for selling intoxicating liquor to a person under the age of 14 years in an unsealed vessel. Mr W. S. Scammel, of Bristol, appeared for the defendant and pleaded not guilty. The case was dismissed. Arising out of this case, William Ashman, a coal miner of Paulton, was summoned for sending his child, Winford Ashman, under the age 14 years to obtain intoxicating liquor in an unsealed vessel. Mr Scammell also appeared for the defendant, and pleaded not guilty. The Bench imposed a fine of 5s.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
